We have a small company and occasionally I need to write a paycheck. We don't use any kind of payroll service or online calculator. This year they have new W4's... but the usual withholding tax chart seems to be missing from the IRS 15T or 15 or 15A publications. There used to be nice simple charts to follow, once the employee has told you how many deductions he figured on his W4. Can anybody tell me a simple way to figure this now? I never liked the percentage method, it was always quite a bit off. Where's the dang chart? And the unanswerable question: why does the government have to make everything so complicated?

Thank you. I don't know why the ones I was looking at did not have the charts included. Unless I was looking at the ones published before 2020 and were in draft form. I did look at Publication 15T. I kept going back to it and looked at it multiple times trying to find it. This is just what I was hunting for.
