Not just the crowds, but the yuckiness of it -- probably 98% of the stuff sold on that day is in the "who really needs this" category. You don't see Warren Buffet types loading up at one day sales!

I have never shopped on Black Friday. I haven't ever wanted something bad enough to stand in line for several hours in the middle of the night No thanks!

As a matter of fact, I'm going to get some groceries today so I don't have to step foot in a store all weekend!

Yes. The lego set my son really wants is on sale for $50, it is normally $90. I am in a really small town. So when I show up to Walmart at 5 am, there are usually about 20 other people. It normally takes me 30 mins total to drive there, get what I need, and get home.

Yup, for the first time ever. Saving $800 on a TV is worth the trip.

And I'm buying from a known company where I can return the product if it is damaged, beats shopping on the web.

Best answer of all darstar. Further..there are few if any bargains on Black Friday. Stores mark up items the day before so they can put reduction stickers on those items for friday, and everyone falls for it. No one wants to admit when they paid too much for something so instead they defend their actions. Friday is rip off day and the stores are laughing their azzes off at everyone.

http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/black-friday/ has a list of all of the black friday deals. one year i went to best buy real early and got my brother a doorbuster laptop, (really good price) but last year there was a huge line by thanksgiving day. walmart will probably be the best seller because they are price matching and might not have the long lines. like one poster said, january will probably have the true bargains.
