Looking 4 info on Portable fleet washing companies. How much water needed per truck so I can get an general ideal of what size tanks needed. I looking at getting into the business of washing fleet vehicles such as waste companies, school buses, etc....I trying to determine what's the best size portable tanks needed to clean a fleet up to 80 trucks. Any info to web sights or personal info from experience will help.

Two primary concerns before even looking at equip/tankage:

1) Current EPA, DEQ, and wastewater discharge rules/regulations/codes. You may discover that you simply can't just discharge the water from a commercial operation down into storm drains anymore; even a car wash has to have sand and grease traps to contain this stuff. As do the shops and maintenance and wash facilities at the fleet operations.

2) Which leads me to the market you may or may not have ... every school bus maintenance garage, fire department garage, police department garage, transit company, and all the municipal facilities/public works garages in the states I'm familiar with all have their own wash rack facility. Who do you think your prospective clients are going to be?

As far as equipment goes, if you're running a 3-4 gpm small commercial high pressure washer, do the math ... how many minutes of run time do you want to have? At 8lbs/gallon, that will most likely be the limiting factor for your operation ... not including fuel tankage for your washdown equipment, soap/supplies, hoses, weight of truck/trailer ....

Portable Fleet Wash-im000102.jpgTo was my well rig takes about two hours. My hose pumps about 15 GPM. Some of the time we use two hoses on it at one time. (maybe an 1/2 hour)

Water truck, one hour to wash. One hose.59377[/ATTACH]
