Alberta NHL teams & Calgary as it relates to Montana & Idaho? (transplants)

I'm a hockey fan & ex-player from the states n being older now but what's the the vibe/scoop w/ fans of the Flames -- & even Oilers & even God forbid the 'Nucks -- on here? I know u all have the Flames & hell, growing u back east in US in 80s, I rooted for Lanny McDonald, Daryl Sittler, et al even when they were the Atlanta Flames. LOL

Ok, question is; how rabid are the new school NHL fans & what teams draw ur rooting?

Can't wait to drink a few brews & attend a Flames game as I'd love to party in Calgary, as been alot of US NHL cities but other than a Toronto & Montreal trip as a youth never been on a western swing of NHL arenas.

Flames sell out every season, so the owners don't and won't pay for stars. Interestingly they've had a few nice runs with young talent in the last decade. The Saddledome where they play has seen better days, and is/was below the Elbow river in the last flood.

Why anyone would put memorabilia and the entertainment lounges BELOW water level is beyond moi, unless it's for the insurance payout. These four cowboy not-so-silent owners ain't as dumb as they.......

There are Flames fans in Montana, at least in the northern parts of Montana. Lots of them in Whitefish and around the Flathead Valley. Many, but not all, are Canadian transplants.
