Hi all, We are going to be moving to Calgary in the coming months and are looking at areas where we would like to live. I will be working at the airport so I need to be within reasonable driving distance (1/2 hr or less preferably). We have been looking at Airdrie but wanted to get some ideas from those that live in and around Calgary.
We will be renting and will be given a fairly generous housing allowance and schools are not a concern since we have no kids.
We are more interested in finding areas with a country feel, more open or scenic, if there is anything like that close by.
I lived in Airdrie for 8 years and know of a few people who work at the airport; they have no problems with the commute unless theres bad weather. Your not going to find much with a country feel in the city but if you decide to live in the cirty you lucked out that the ring road just opened, should be able to live all over the NW and NE now (NW has mountain views). There are alot of acreages within a 1/2 hour commute; this all depends on your budget of coarse.
