Some strategists fear Jerry Brown's frugal campaign strategy may be too little, too late - latimes.com

Attached is an article pointing out that Jerry Brown seems to be campaigning in slow motion with hardly any staff members [only 6 compared to 66 staffers working for Meg Whitman]. Admittedly Brown has a fraction of the resources Whitman has [she has spent already $91 million of her own money]. But as the article points out, the Brown campaign may be "too little, too late." Brown responds by pointing out that he has a 6 point lead over Whitman in polls and has hardly spent a cent.

Personally, I would like to at least know what Jerry Brown's plan is for California and think he is being lazy by not informing the voters of his vision for the state. Oh well!

What an impatient society we have become. Just because that idiot Meg Whitman has spent an enormous amount of money trying to buy her way in, doesn't mean that Brown should do likewise.

Given that Meg is endorsed by Cheney, is a Bush Republican, and has absolutely no qualifications to run this state, Meg stinks. Her party stinks. Brown shouldn't have to do much to win this election.

Well, you very well may be correct and it seems that Brown is just biding his time until autumn. But as the article points out, some Democrats are getting nervous over Jerry's lackadaisical pace. Whitman is pounding the airwaves non-stop; that's how she decisively beat Poizner. Lots of younger people don't even know who Jerry Brown is.

I think Alexus is right. I also think that Brown will pour it on closer to the election. Younger people may not know who he is but they're not stupid; They know he was once governor if nothing else. It's also possible that those 6 percentage points could be from younger voters. Young voters have a way of keeping a low profile; they stay below the ridge-line so to speak, out of the line of conservative/tea-bagger sniper fire. Between Latinos in LA county and blacks in the Bay Area, Meg had better keep spending her money.

It's not so much that Jerry is "too little too late" as much as Whitman is "too much too early." It's July. We just had the primaries. Give it a rest for a few weeks, let people worry about other things besides elections. Jerry realizes this, if anyone wants to take a look at his platform they can read his website.

Default Is Jerry Brown Running for Governor or Not?

He has to! Running for office is all he knows.

It's too early to know his plan for California as he changes plans and focus like some of us change socks.

You know, I remember when almost all primaries were held the first week in June and the winners did very little campaigning until right around labor day. Now all we hear is get out and campaign for the first of the year on. Well obviously I don't really mean the first of the year, but I don't think campaigning needs to start so early. I am certainly not a Brown supporter but I understand what he is doing.

Most voters don't pay much attention to the hot air politicians blow until a few weeks before voting.

It'll be interesting to see the amount of blow back Meg receives from her TV exposure. I'm sure she's getting more air time than Viagra commercials.
