There are macadamia groves in Fallbrook\ Escondido. And pistachio orchards around Coalinga\ Los Banos.

There are nurseries but not sure about roadside stands\ farms. Not like the fruit stands in Ventura county or in the San Joaquin valley that I can recall.

Nothing but pistachio farms in the town of Newbury Springs. Some let you pick your own.

This is kinda a general question. Wouldn't it be better to narrow it down by telling us what area you're looking in? Otherwise you'll be driving up and down this entire state lookin' to pick nuts.

There's a great nut farm in Valley Center, CA (up in the mountains outside Escondido) called Bates Brothers Nut Farm. But it's not like a "pick your own", they're already bagged for you.

LOL... that whole last sentence just read completely wrong.
