Does it bother anybody to see trash all over the side of the freeways in Cal? I`m a native and it never use to be like it is now. It`s disqusting...
I remember when the 215 was mostly clean of trash, now it`s so disgusting.

i remember it being worse in the late 80s/early 90s, when graffiti was also much worse. also the nastiest freeway i've seen is actually the 15 north of Las Vegas in Nevada. our freeways aren't great, but they aren't too bad either considering the number of cars that use them on a daily basis.

I guess you`re just use to them having trash all over. When you move then go back to visit, then you really see the difference.

I can't stand to see litter ANYWHERE....seriously, how can someone just roll down their window and toss out trash like it's nothing?

I think different parts of the state have differing levels of cleanliness. From my experience, Sacramento, San Diego, Orange, and Ventura counties are WAY cleaner than LA county. With our prisons so overcrowded, I don't understand why they can't get that army out cleaning the freeways. If they don't get that crap picked up, the next rainstorm washes it into the stormdrains and then out into the ocean.

Because we have been lucky enough to travel all over this great country and yes, have lived in a few places, I will say, I don't see anymore or any less trash along the freeways and highways in Cal than other states. What bothers me the most, is the graffite which we saw plenty of on our last Ca trip.

You are right it is discusting. people are just not taught to respect others and others property anymore.

Were I live now, there is trash but nothing like Cal. Matter of fact, it`s clean here compared to Cal.

Here in the Bay Area, I don't notice it being that much worse. Graffiti is around but not horrible.

I just got back from a trip to Germany & Austria. They definitely don't have as much litter there, but they definitely do have more graffiti, especially along the train lines.

I do hate litter, though. I pick up litter every day in my urban neighborhood, and there are plenty of public trash/recycling cans right on the streets .
