I read statements by the fervent anti illegal crowd that refer to these people as criminals, as dirty, as a little bit sub human.

The same things were said about other ethnic groups in this country in years past. The common denominator is that these groups are Catholic and Brown skinned, or Catholic, or brown skinned.

Of course these people have entered the country illegally and therefore have created both crisis and opportunity for Americans. But the hate directed against them by many is pure racism.

Senator John Kyl, R Arizona the other day said that Phoenix is the kidnapping capital of America and that was due to illegals.

He lied when he said that, but the haters did not question him.
You appear to have leaned into this thread with some predisposition so I don't think anyone can sway you. There is racism on both sides of the argument. I do know this, if you are looking for racism you will always find it, if you try hard enough. What I see are people committing crimes. I don't care their wealth, status, color, religion or language.

You are right, I am predisposed to think rationally.

The level of crime committed by illegals is lower than that of citizens.

Illegals come here to work, and they work, all the blather against them, is pretty much, lies.

Part of the "Great Afearedness" of the right wing, it is darned hard to find anything those guys are not willing to try to scare the public with, and there is a certain set, call them; right of center, who are "predisposed" to be scared of anything, particularly, anything, black, brown, foreign.

It just always has to be about California with the OP, lol..
It's not in the political forum because that's a shooting gallery for anyone remotely liberal.

Do you have statistics? Id be interested to see. I think you are right in that many are here to work hard, and do, but thats beside the point that reform is needed. Rules that are enforced are needed, what those are is the debate.

I don't know where you live, but it certainly isn't anywhere near a few of the areas we have lived in. NO, they do not all come here to work, or they may come with that in mind, but it doesn't take them long to decide if they can't find work they can live off the government. They squeeze 2 and 3 families into one house that was built for 4 or 5 people, and many could care less about adjusting to the American way. They want the best of both worlds. Certainly no one is saying none are hard workers. Many are and they just want a better life for themselves and their families.

As for crime, where are you getting your information about the crime element being less among illegals than citizens? Give us the information so we can research this. No one is saying, other than being here illegally which is breaking the law, all illegals are criminals. But even if it were just a handful (which it is more than that) it is too many.

Now for your statement about those to the right of center are predisposed to be afraid of anything black, brown or foreign, how do you explain black Republicans, or Hispanic conservatives? In our own family we have Hispanics that are to the right of us and we have black friends that are the same. As for other foreignors, no, most of us have no fear of them nor do we dislike them.

Your mind is so closed nothing anyone could tell you would make you open it up and see another side..

All four of them? Look, Black Americans comprise about 12% of the population, the news service that services the rightwing whackos, is Fox news, 1.8% of its viewership is Black, compared to 18-20% of the viewership of CNN and MSNBC

remember, there were blacks that volunteered to fight on the side of the confederacy. In any given population you will have people that work against their own best interest.

I can take you to village after village in Mexico where there are no young men. There are wives and mothers and old men and children. There is no way to support a family in these villages. The young men have gone to the cities and to America to earn money to feed their family.

Illegal immigration is based on one simple fact, survival.

If you want to stop illegal immigration, all the walls, armed border guards, and Rin Tin Tin won't stop it, it did not stop people from leaving the Iron Curtain Countries.

If you want to stop illegal immigration, you fix the economy of Mexico.

Instead of hate, offer succor.

It is the Christian thing to do.

This is humor, right? Political Conservatives live in a state of perpetual "afearedness". It is why they are conservative.

If they were not afeared, they would not be conservatives.

Look at your media and your talking heads. Most of what they tell you is who next to be afraid of, I find it tragically sad that there are those who think this way, but there are, oddly enough.

Interesting that none of your pundits will tell you this simple thing, $29,000,0000,000 of the ag output in CA is due to illegals. Next time, just before you sink a fork into your food, other than cereal (not much grain grown for food in CA, other than rice), Say grace, thank god, and thank the illegals for putting food on your table.

I do say grace, before every meal eaten at home, but the food I eat isn't grown in Ca (most of it anyway) just thought I would clue you in on that.

As for the 4 black Republicans, think again.

Hate, who said anything about hate, except obiously you have some. It isn't a matter of hate, but a matter of breaking the law for starters. And taking advantage of our government. If they need asssistance, seek it thourh their country..

Of course we will never stop all border crossings, no one thinks we can, but we sure can cut down on them

Statistics? You want to see my statistics? We don't need no stinking statistics. Here, try this, go to the corner of 227 and Biddle road at 6:30 in the morning, look at the field hands, watch them work.

You get to answer the question for yourself.
