Now this is when I agree with those who are harder on the illegal issue. I have problems with that too and while I do not agree with AZ. way of doing things, I agree with everything else including this statement. Sorry Cal Sur but even you have to admit that this isn't right.

How exactly do you close 1,969 miles??

But if 1070 keeps away illegals from AZ, im ok with it. It's not racism but more of an economic stand point. I don't enjoy how temporary illegals are. An example of this is:

a family sends their 2 kids to elementary school. 2 weeks or months down the road, they want to go back to Mexico for whatever reason. There goes the two kids, with the tax income for that school, and the school budget is out of wack. But then there is the whole.... they don't pay enough taxes as $3 an hour so they get more benefits then what they pay in. Sign me up?

One Arizona congressman stated that what the court is trying to prove is that a state can not take national matters into their own hands by writing a law, even though that law is in support of the national law. This current stay of the law does not take away the fact that the federal law is still in effect and law enforcement can use the federal law to accomplish the same thing.

But can Arizona enforce the Federal Law, when the Feds will not?

I don't think so. That's why Arizona wrote this law in the first place.

True, and some good points that are still in effect: You can now sue a sanctuary city for not following the federal law, meaning Phoenix. You can be fined for picking up day laborers that are illegal. It is not a perfect world but some points are still in effect.

It's called a NEW VOTING FACTION.

And before anyone get's all political (Californiasur), Reagan granted amnesty last. Neither political party has wanted to dirty their shoes with this issue. They both have been trying to USE cheap labor, and cheap future VOTES to their advantage.

Truth is, we should all be angry with both political parties for not long ago dealing with Illegal Immigration and the DEBT (which is a far, far bigger issue). Personally, I only want to hear from politicians who will truly deal with these issues, regardless of political party.

The issue is far from over. In fact, Arizona planted the seed and I expect a united effort from other states to enforce what the Feds should have faced almost 30 years. Arizona, Texas, and NM should attempt to plan better methods of border control amongst each other. California likely wouldn't.

And, yes, the blame CAN start with Reagan, because his amnesty was not secured with border control from that point forward.

3 Chandler Police Officers Shot in South Phoenix (http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/dpp/news/crime/police-officers-shot-in-south-phoenix-7-28-2010 - broken link)

1 Chandler Az cop was killed and 2 wounded in a undercover narcotics investigation last night. Of course Arizona doesn't have a problem though (my cruel sense of sarcasm). I'm not saying an illegal immigrant did this becuase I don't know. I am just simply pointing out they have a huge problem and unfortunately most of the drugs come from south of the border.
