I LOVE California!!! After living in Hell (Texas) for 9 months, and putting up with rain, constant humidity, traffic and all the other wonderful things attendant to living in Texas, I am so glad to be back home where I belong! Now, instead of taking my beautiful desert surrounded by gorgeous mountains for granted, every day I wake up and thank God that I am lucky enough to be able to live in such a wonderful place!!! Yeah, I know it's going to be over 120 tomorrow and the next day, but I am still loving it here!

Smile california girls

The west coast has the sunshine
And the girls all get so tanned
I dig a french bikini on hawaii island
Dolls by a palm tree in the sand

I been all around this great big world
And I seen all kinds of girls

I wish they all could be california
I wish they all could be california girls

Default Nice place in N. California

I live in far northern California (Redding). It's a completely different animal than So. Ca. We have 4 distinct seasons. Although it's 90,000 population, it still has a small town atmosphere. It's politically conservative and the schools are mostly pretty good. I am 1 hour away from skiing in winter. In the summer, I have 2 major lakes nearby. The Sacramento River is about 5 minutes from my front door. No real traffic to speak of. Housing is much cheaper than almost anywhere else in Ca. If you can handle the summer heat, it's a good place to live.
