Walnut Creek is a quaint community with good schools and has a BART station that will take you right into Oakland or SF for work.

Where in Cali would you live if money were not an issue?
Oprah's house. I'd say, "Ok, Oprah, move on now!" and life would be good.

We would love to have: Ocean/bay, healthy clean air, beautiful sunny weather, and hiking/biking/walking trail. I would also prefer a neigborhood, where I don't have to use car all the time. I welcome opinions from people living in these neigborhoods...Thanks!!!
It would be Santa Barbara/Montecito for me. IMO, it has the best aspects of both SoCal (weather) and NorCal (quaintness) put together.

It's got the ocean, great weather, clean air & biking & walking trails in spades.

It's small enough that you don't have to spend your whole life driving around in your car. There is enough to do there in terms of arts, dining, & entertainment.

Like all places though, it has its issues, but the biggest ones revolve around people not being able to afford the housing/cost of living there. If you've got that covered, the rest are fairly minor.

I visited San Diego and stayed in La Jolla for a week. I liked some area of La Jolla but wasn't impressed with San Diego as a whole. La Jolla is not for me. Next trip will be to Tiburon (Marin County) and Carmel/Montrey. Hoepfully, I'll like one of them to settle down. It's difficult to judge a place in a week time, so locals your opinion will be appreciated.

I'd vote Tiburon in a heartbeat. You get a La Jolla type lifestyle with quick access to San Francisco, and the scenery is gorgeous.

I have been to all the places you have in the photographs. As nice as it is, your pictures definitely make it look about 100 times better. If you are on the other side of that camera, you are most likely freezing from the icy ocean wind. Do not expect any warm evenings, even on a warm to even hot day as soon as the sun starts setting it gets chilly. I wear a patagonia fleece sweatshirt all year here on the Monterey peninsula.

Go on out to the Carmel Valley & warm up...

This is such an incredibly tough question. I think I'd like a winter home in the Santa Ynez Valley, and a summer home in Laguna Beach. There's just too many nice areas to pick from... though I do prefer warmer weather and less fog.
