I've dated a few guys that live here, that came from California and they were just flat out rude and mean. And 1 was so damn snobby I just wanted to slap the s*** out of him!! Why is that?? Why do you guys have to act like that??

I'm not trying to offend anyone and I'm not mad or anything. I'm just damn curious about you folks.

Maybe I'm living in the wrong place. I'm from Texas, originally, and I had some of the greatest boyfriends from there and never treated me like crap, until I moved here. I don't plan on staying here forever anyway.

Maybe you happened to find them in the wrong place. There are jerks everywhere. You can generalize the whole state of California on a few people you dated. Good luck with the next one

Thanks. Yeah, I know there's jerks everywhere, but I just seem to have bad luck with men that are from California. I don't know why that is. Maybe I'm just not insync with them mentally or something. Me being from Texas...Okay, yeah, I see the major difference. I don't know. But thanks for the great compliment.

Theres your answer. Texas. My brother lives there and will never leave there. There are many states/places where people still actually care about one another, there is no room for 'higher class' or 'snooty' lifestyles in peoples simple lives. Not that Tx probably doesnt have their share ....yet...but once those investors get out there and buy up all that land it wont be long afterwards.
Actually, many people I know, including myself, find some cities here in Az with more than their fair share of those types. There are many who complain about them in local forums. Good to see that theres another mark about that issue.

Well, I've been ignoring this thread for a while, as I just didn't want to "get into it." Alas, my curiosity got the better of me. Now that I'm here, I ask myself, "where do I start?" and "how far should I go?" I'll keep it to the point that puzzles me the most.

So, among 17 million guys, Leana76, you found "a few" that displeased you. Ok, shucks, too bad. But why spend your energy jumping to some far-fetched conclusion that there is a common thread of rudeness among the native-born in a state with a population of 34 million? It just sounds preposterous to me. Seriously, what might serve you better is reevaluating some things more personal than all of us "folks" (disclaimer: I'm not a CA native) and a "few guys."

And if you can't get beyond the notion that CA natives are this, that and the other, date ex-pats from other states and countries. There are plenty to pick from in CA . But I suspect that this still wouldn't solve the issue for you . Just a thought.
