I am reading that some experts expect weed prices to fall to $50 an ounce. But, with the taxation that will occur and the fact that everybody in the other 47 lower states will be running to California to buy weed to smuggle back to their home states I think that prices will actually stay somewhat up. I also think that one out of every three cars physically leaving the state will be smuggling weed.

I dont smoke weed but it should be legal in all 50 states if you're 21 & over just like alcohol is. The state of ca will surely get a large piece of the pie. Someone has to sustain their salaries, benefits & fat pensions + the illegals need to be supported as well.

Too many people are in jail due to growing & selling weed & housing them is very expensive in ca.

I've read that if California voters approve legalizing marijuana that the federal government will immediately ask for a court injuction halting the measure from taking effect. In-fact, some politicians like senator Feinstein are warning voters to not approve Prop 19 because it will be a violation of federal law and embarrass California.

Feinstein, a defender and champion of earmarks, just hasn't yet found any earmarks to bring back to California related to legalization of pot. Eventually she will, and she will change her tune.

Yep, exactly. Isn't it bad enough that we have to deal with illegals driving uninsured on our streets. With the passing of this Prop. we will also have to deal with an over abundance of pot heads driving our streets and operating machinery.

I predict the federal government will step in to prevent the commercial sale of cannibis. What's more of an issue here, IMHO, is that the federal government has too much power over the states. I will vote in favor of 19 though I have no real belief my vote will matter given the federal involvement in this.

Should we abolish alcohol consumption as well?

Thousands of crackheads and coke sniffers will move to California in droves. It's going to be called "The California Weed Rush". Just what you people need in addition to all that smog you already have.

Because crack and coke are just nicknames for marijuana, right?
