Doesn't the attorney general have better things to do than to make speeches in California -telling the people he will over-ride their vote?

I am not an Obama hater. In fact I think he inherited a hopeless situation but I'm confounded that he enter this fray. Let California be a test case and see what happens.

Its ok if one state legalizes it and 49 haven't. They can always vote to criminalize it again if it doesn't workout.

The last thing California needs is legalized pot.

The last thing Californians need to pay for is the law enforcement issues around pot usage, selling, DWH(high) etc.

Maybe it's just a simple case of Attorney General Holder letting the people of California know how he stands on the issue. He isn't interfering in the vote; everyone can still vote however they like.

Why is it ok for the feds/Obama to meddle in Arizona and not in Cali?

Can't have it both ways.

Why? Theyre broke & a tax on marijuana would bring in alot of money and likely still save smokers big bucks.

Thats just silly, do you think nobody smokes it now? Law enforcement costs will go down significantly since people wont get arrested simply for having or smoking it & it'll remove it from a criminally run black market.

IMO Californias politicians & other leaders have been burning big blunts for years.

The difference is this. Criminal laws concerning possession of drugs were state powers. The states regulated them and California was the first state to make pot illegal back in 1914 or 1918. The Federal Govt has the right to enforce the borders and they can prevent pot from coming into California from other countries. No problem - smuggling has always been part of the Federal Jurisdiction. The Federal govt had actually conceded that it could not make these decisions when it passed the Marihuana Tax Acts. The Feds said - we can't make say you cant smoke it etc but we can tax it heavily and then fine you or jail you for the tax violations.

Immigration has always been a federal issue and there have been immigrations acts in our country forever. If it was up to states Colorado would have enacted an immigration ban vs Californians and New Mexico would have tried to ban Texans.

If immigration were up to states than moving to other US states for Californians would be as hard as moving to Canada and perhaps even more difficult.

Knocker you actually have to have a mind to understand how one works. I agree with my "LIBERAL" Congressman Ron Paul ( perhaps you would call him Socialist) who believes there should be less government in our lives. This means knocker - hope you are following - that while liberals are said to want MORE government - Ron Paul, myself and others -at least where pot laws go- want LESS.
