What a strange position she has on this issue. She supports the law for Arizona but not for California. No really, that's her position.

I just watched it in Spanish and the announcer clearly says in Spanish "Meg Whitman is opposed to the Arizona Law".

Quote:
The spot begins with audio from a Jerry Brown ad, saying that Whitman supports the Arizona immigration law.

"Don't let Jerry Brown fool you. Meg Whitman is against the Arizona law. She is with us" interjects Whitman's announcer, going on to tout her policy plans.

Whitman has been running on this message — that she opposes the Arizona law — since June, but she's also sliced it quite thin: She opposes the Arizona law, she says — for California.

Whitman was for the Arizona law before she was against it.

She's only opposed to it in CA because she's depending on the Hispanic vote, otherwise it makes sense for Arizona. What a joke.

Meg Whitman had a running commercial agreeing that the Arizona Law was something she supports to the fullest and agreed with Jan Brewer. As voting day nears I've seen a circulation of commercials like this one stating that she is against the Arizona Law. I believe she is doing this just to gain the votes of "Legal" Hispanics.

I always found it strange that she wasn't called on this more often. In interviews and debates, she seemed to be in sync with Arizona SB 1070 as long as it wasn't called SB 1070.

Did her Spanish language ad campaign move the needle for her?

It'll be interesting to see the election post-mortem to see how the different demographics went for each candidate.
