I don't see what the argument to deny open carry is besides the 'drain on resources' one. If that was a valid argument, ban cars, they drain officer resources.

oh no! You may lose your ability to carry an UNLOADED gun around in the open. Honestly, who cares? What are you going to do with an unloaded, unconcealed gun besides scare hippies and soccer moms and pretend to be a bad ass at starbucks? Good luck loading it fast enough when/if you really need to...I feel open carry can be counterproductive to what it's trying to achieve: you draw lots of attention to yourself, and if you're in a very high crime area some of that attention could potentially be from certain people who have LOADED guns who would love to come and rob you of your unloaded gun. Concealed carry is a much better option in my opinion. You can carry your gun loaded, so it actually has use, and you won't be drawing so much attention to yourself. Unfortunately it seems you can only get a CCW permit in SF if you're extremely rich and/or politically connected.

I feel a lot of these open carry people are just attention whores going "look at me! look at me!" ...or they're wackos who think the commie traitor terrorist Obama death squads are gonna come and take their guns.

Then again i guess i don't see much of a reason to ban open carry, other than it makes some people uncomfortable and/or annoyed. It's not like it will affect crime rates.

IMO carrying even a toy gun (or replica) increases your chance of being shot by law enforcement. A few weeks ago here in LA a dude was shot and killed because cops thought he had a gun and it turned out to be a gun shaped water nozzle for a hose. Apparently he was drunk and neighbors called police and he displayed the gun/nozzle in a threating manner.

No thanks! Any gun I transport will be in a locked box and will only come out at home or at a shooting range.

I don't care either way whether unloaded carry is legal or prohibited.

I'm a believer in gun rights, but that hardly bothers me. I assume it doesn't pertain to hunting... That would make it especially difficult to hunt lol.

Good point! WTH does this topic have to do with socialism? Eh BDD? I think you've confused socialism with liberalism.

Bow and arrow?

I'm sure it will remain legal to carry loaded firearms in areas legal for hunting during open season.
