When i work p/t (not too often) i combine my lunch & break together. I clock in at 10:00 am & leave for lunch at 12:50 & return back to work at 2:00 pm & clock out at 5:00 pm. That gives me 5 hrs work but sometimes i work 11-4 & i only get 4 hrs work but i still combine break/lunch for 70 minutes.

Time goes by quickly for me but not always. I like to keep busy cause boredom at work makes the time go by very slowly.

I'm the opposite. I don't like taking an hour lunch. I would rather take a 30 minute lunch and go home half an hour sooner.

The law is a joke. It was put into effect because of two law suits that came about. We are now forced to not only clock out for lunch but make sure that we clock in. Before the law took effect we had more breathing room. Now we have a 3 minute window to clock back in from lunch. Also our breaks are regulated now. We had more freedom before. In the past someone could use both their break and lunch time to visit our on site gym. That gave you an hour to put in a workout and get cleaned up to go back to work. sure not a lot of time but something. Now we are forced to take the breaks at set times. This takes more freedom away from employees than it gives us.

Yep, when I used to clock punch it was that way, sucked!!

The law is a good one. Every state should have it. Im on my feet all day & that 10 min break is much needed. Some yrs back i worked at aamco trans & the greedy & selfish owner never let me take a break. When i worked f/t i was allowed a 1 hr lunch & when i worked p/t i had to work the entire time. The job lasted approx 1 yr & i was paid under the table.
