I heard this on KFI yesterday and liked what I heard. Currently California is one of I think 9 states that have a paid full time legislature. I think it is about time to change our legislature back to a part time, every other year, legislature. We sure do have a lot of people spending a lot of time in Sacramento, finding new ways to spend our money. They have done such a good job spending our money that they have over spent it for many many years to come.

Capitol Alert: Michael Reagan to chair initiative drive for part-time Legislature

Yeah, real great approach to solving the problems of the world's eight largest economy. At least they have the right guy leading it. I don't believe Mike Reagan has ever worked a real job in his life, and I don't count his crappy radio show as hard work like the rest of us do.

Just another gimmick that won't solve a thing.

Works for me. But I am not a power hungry leftist that feels the need to spend like a drunken sailor.

I just don't see what they are doing in Sacramento that does any of us any good. When you have a professional legislature, you end up with a government that is self serving. Let these people keep their jobs back home and spend as little time as possible trying to tax, create fees, create endless legislation that hinders the state. We need to make a change in how things are opperating within the state and get us back to the leadership role that we used to have within the nation.

What they are doing is entrenching their position of power and serving their various masters such as public and private unions.

You want real change then you'll need to break the backs of the public employee union mob organizations a la Scott Walker.

See Stockton.....

Comparing them to the CA Legislature is an insult to drunken sailors everywhere!

Unions and Lobbyists are too powerful to change things via our elected officials.

This sort of change will only come from us.

Agreed as sailors don't have an endless supply of other peoples money to line the pockets of their cronies.

If they only had 100 days a year in Sacramento, they'd learn something the rest of us have to deal with every day: Prioritization. I want them to just just enough time to deal with the really important issues and not enough time to dream up more ways to take our freedoms and money.
