Actually hung out in Oakland the other weekend. I enjoyed myself. Although Jack London Square was dead as a doorknob as usual, I hung out with some friends in Downtown Oakland, strolled around Lake Merritt and frequented some of the businesses around. It was pretty lively. Oakland's definitely getting better.

The architecture was the best part. Downtown Oakland has got some incredible architecture!

I still stick by my assertion that Sactown's downtown still beats Oakland. But they are both pretty close in terms of quality, and both cities have been improving dramatically in the last ten years. Oakland's definitely heading in the right direction!
