LOL, I told my hubby---"it never rains in southern CA" He said what and I said remember that song? I thought about that.

We had the heater going in the car. I wish we had more of a chance to walk on the beaches on the coast. We missed the snow in San Fran though. Bet that was a treat, huh? LOL If they had ice I don't know how they would get around.

Yeah, we went from one extreme to the other, nice and warm to really cold (by California standards). It actually snowed in parts of Monterey County at the beach as well as strange places in SoCal which never happens.

I can rememeber a few rare occasions growing and and surfing in the Winter when it got real cold and started hailing so bad I couldn't open my eyes to see. Everyone got out of the water until it passed.

janelle, I know exactly what you are talking about. I relocated to California last June for a job and it was so cold we couldn't stand it. We lasted 7 months there and came back to AZ.

When the Phoenix area is your point of reference, "cold" is anything below 85F and "damp" is anytime that relative humidity goes into double digits.

Exactly, its all about Point of Reference. When we moved to CO from CA everyone said, Oh, the weather is Colorado is moslty mild. You know, we get a little snow here and there. Then the sun comes out it and it just melts right away. Well, if you're from the Midwest or East Coast then maybe you can buy into that. But when you are used to SoCal then move to CO it is Extreme. He was one of many little surprises in our front driveway. Ready for snow shoveling dear? Yep, its 5 degrees out and the winds blowin.' Fun

And no it doesn't always just melt right away.

My brother and his family live in Phoenix. When I went there in June it was HOT. I could hardly touch the car door. Walking outside was like---ouch, ouch, ouch.

I was just disappointed CA wasn't as warm as I thought it would be. I live in KS so I should be use to extreme weather but it does not get as hot as AZ and stay that way for so long.

I got some pics of the ocean but it was mostly rainy and cloudy those days.

It was 88 today here in the Eastern portion of the Greater L.A. Metro Area. You had the misfortune of being here between our two Winter warm spells.

So coastal California in February was not as warm as southern Arizona in June? Huh. I'll have to do some climate research on that one...
