Any bad areas in Carlsbad, CA?... (San Diego, Oceanside: low income, crime rates, income)

I am a newcomer to Carlsbad and it sounds silly to me for even asking this question, but are there any bad areas in Carlsbad? Any areas that you would tell a newcomer to stay away from or to be extra careful treading around (as far as gangs, crime, low income housing areas)?

I get so disgusted when I hear them speak that way. Plus, I've noticed ever since I got here, my thinking has gotten more negative and I'm getting annoyed having to be here. Many people that are here wish they could all leave. We have all been taken advantage of by a group of criminals that are high on the MOST WANTED list by the Department of Justice.
