These are some scintillating replies. Now that everyone's made their quip, might we start answering the question in earnest? I am genuinely interested in finding the smiling hippie chicks in California. They were there in droves only a few decades ago. Surely they've not entirely dried up and been blown to the wind. Surely some new ones have moved in on a notion or heeding a rumor that California was the place to be for floral-clad merriment and gaiety. So, where are the hippie chicks in California -- and specifically, what neighborhoods?

Again, thank you all for the levity and comic relief. I have laughed myself silly. And I would love to go on yukking it up, cracking wise, and chuckin pies, but ladies and gentlemen, I'm up against a deadline. Seriously, I need you to weigh in. Kindly give me a sign. Help me locate the places in your fair state where I can find hot hippie chicks with smiling faces -- hey, I'll settle for cute, just bring me fairies who blow the flute. Who skip merry trails from cloud to cloud, writing LOVE LIFE LOVE LIGHT LET'S MAKE LOVE TONIGHT SO RIGHT in cursived contrails of rose pedals so loud, then descend to ground where they leap long days through daisy patches, ripe melons bouncing, oh-so-golden snatches – then they're off to the secret rose garden to make sweet love down by the riverside with mellow merrymen. Beside, a candle burning, lowly glowing, ecstatic world a-turning. Cows a-lowing. Eucalyptus tryst beneath yella moonlight and foggy mist. Where stars fall and lovers ball ‘til the break of day. An eight hour lay, in the land California. Don’t be paranoia. T’would destroy ya. Just tell the cops when pops they try to stop, “Go away, pigs we’re a-frickkin. The other white meat, a turdicken.”

Those hippie chicks you seek are still here. Some of them teach in the schools, some of them work in hospitals, some of them work for government contractors, Some are working in the entertainment industry, many settled down and had families of their own. Many have moved away to other cheaper locals. Some are entering retirement now. I was born in 1965 and my parents have many friends that were hippies. I grew up around them. I heard stories of what was happening when I was a little guy. Think of some young hippie in 1969, she was maybe 17 or so. Well that was 42 years ago, She is 59 now. If you are thinking that others went into replace the aged hippie chicks that didn't happen.

And some traded the hash pipe for the meth pipe and are talking to themselves in Golden Gate Park.

Is this a serious question? Do you mean young hot hippie chicks (20's-30's) or Grown up hot hippie chicks from the 60's? I actually do not understand most of your question however I would recommend taking a meditation retreat at Tassajara in Carmel Valley Tassajara Hot Springs - San Francisco Zen Center You might find like minded individuals. I am not sure if they leap long days through daisy patches, ripe melons bouncing, oh-so-golden snatches, but then seriously, wtf does that mean?

Good luck

A lot of folks used to go skinny dipping at the Gorge, above Government Camp, Arroyo Seco.
