Cut the fat in the UC system first. Then cut the fat in CA state gov't - including employee expenses. That will cover any issue you have in education funding.

After you've done all that then we can - maybe - consider a tax increase.

Needed spending on education is good. Wasteful spending on education isn't an "investment", it's just more waste....

I agree with this.

Cut the fat where necessary-but this is one place where I dont see value in skimping when it comes to retaining talented faculty & scientists.

My opinion of administrators is not so kind tho. LOL.

If you lower their pay and benefits where are they gonna go? Answer, nowhere because it's still the best gig around.
