Let's pay tribute to Hal Fishman of KTLA who passed away this morning

He was my favorite newsman,I watched him every night. So shocked about the news.

I heard about that, too, and I am so sorry about it. However, I think that's the way most of us would want to go; he was only sick for a few days before he died. They discovered he had colon cancer which had spread to his liver. Rest in peace, Hal, you'll be missed!

I'm saddened. I've always liked him, and Stan Chambers

Luckily he lives on in the Simpsons
(I read once that Kent Brockman was inspired by Jerry Dunphy and Hal Fishman)

What ever happened to Dr. George? Christine Lund? Tricia Toyota? George Putnam?

Shocking news, so quick! Hal's editorials had me in disagreement with him most of the time, but I always enjoyed his reporting of aviation stories; he was a pilot. Plus, he's been a mainstay on LA TV since I can remember. Same as when Jerry Dunphy died, So Cal TV will not be the same without Hal.

I'm sad to hear that about Hal Fishman. I moved to California in 1976. I remember him from that far back. So sad.

He will be one of the last serious reporters we will have in Southern California and missed. It seems every stations reporters and news anchors in LA now are young women and men who are nothing but a pretty face and have no clue of what they are talking about.

I've been watching Hal Fishman since 1980. The only time I have not watch was of course when I would be on a trip.
It is going to be very different watching the 10 o'clock news from now on.

He was always so serious never smiled but thanks to Lynette Romero and Leila Feinstein, both made him smile He would smile when these ladies try to crack a joke.

Saying a prayer for his family...... He was a wonderful Newscaster.

He will be missed........

I was always quite envious of Hal surrounded by those two beautiful women every night, Leila and Lynette.
