Right, a county government shouldn't be endorsing Christianity, this is in the constitution and is what is meant by freedom of religion. You have a problem with freedom of religion and the principles the country was founded on.

How is having a tiny cross as a nod to LA's history an endorsement of religion? Somehow I doubt the ACLU would have a problem with this if it were any other religion in LA's history.

How is having a cross in a county seal an endorsement of religion? Is that a serious question?

Now, I would agree, this is likely a waste of time and they can spend their time on more fruitful things, but these sorts of endorsements are clearly unconstitutional and are only accepted because the majority of folks ascribe to the religion being endorsed. Its mob rule, the exact sort of thing our liberal founders were trying to avoid with the constitution and bill of rights.

The foundation of the US government was more informed by the works of John Locke, the founder of modern liberalism, not Christianity. I'd highly suggest you read some of these works and also the founders writings, you'll find little about religion in them other than of course discourse about the freedom of religion and religious tolerance.

Its amazing the alternate reality you folks have created for yourself, but seriously, the books are all available, why not try reading them?

Regardless, tax-free internet transactions from other states aren't going to lost much longer and this has nothing to do with liberalism. All states want the tax revenue and brick and mortar retailers are lobbying heavily for equal tax treatment.

Personally, I'd love it if all states just eliminated the sales tax (a regressive tax) and just raised property taxes.

I will do what almost everyone else does that comes here and finds out how stupid the voters are. We will make all that money for the next 25 years and take our retirement and enjoy it elsewhere. But while I'm here I will rock the boat for a better California.
