Are you MOD CUT me?????

I know the point you are trying to make, but that is a bad, bad, BAD reason to join the military! I've been around my share of young not-so-smarts who enlisted for that very reason, then whine and protest because they had to actually SERVE their country when called to active duty. The military is for people who WANT to be in the military ~ not use it as a vocational school.

Sounds like a lot more than a few to me. From the article, "It is not known how many undocumented students will be eligible to apply for the aid. About 41,000 students — undocumented immigrants and out-of-state residents who attended California high schools — in the UC, Cal State and community college systems receive reduced in-state tuition, less than 1% of total enrollment. But a Senate fiscal analysis estimated the bill's annual costs at $13 million for Cal Grants, which award up to $12,192 annually, up to $15 million for community college fee waivers and up to $12 million in institutional aid for UC and CSU." Wish we knew more about how this will actually work.

@ .highnlite

You seem awful nervous about people standing up for themselves as LEGAL US CITIZENS and against ILLEGAL ALIENS. They have no right to be here and it is only through US compassion and generosity that they are allowed to stay.

WELL, NO MORE! NO MORE MONEY OR AID FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS!

Oh, and thanks for throwing around the race card and charges of rightwing nutcase. That kind of argument will always make you seem sane and intelligent. Too afraid of people learning what actually motivates them for this nonsense? Too afraid to look up those terms: WHITE GUILT and IDIOT COMPASSION?? Afraid of what you'll learn about yourself? Or maybe I should make a call to ICE to come to your house??

@yeahthatguy
Thank you for your post and for speaking your mind. Unfortunately, too many of my friends are consumed by WHITE GUILT and will die defending it. And, I live in the most whacko, "progressive", "compassionate" sanctuary city in California: Santa Cruz.

Warning to other states: DO NOT let ILLEGAL ALIENS get in-state tuition. This is the pinky finger that they will consume until they've eaten your whole arm off.

Or even worse, they might just take that education and go back to their own home county and use it there, instead of here. They'll take their education funded by are tax dollars and run with it.

This bill is a joke. I much rather have out-of-state residents receive in-state tuition than undocumented immigrants.
