So we have lots of kids born here in California to American citizens. Many of those kids will not be able to attend college because of the cost. Too bad for them.
Good for those kids whose parents broke the law and brought them to this country illegally. The Legislature just gave away an estimated $40million a year to this group of kids who if and when Gov Brown signs it into law will now get to attend college for free..
Something is very wrong with this situation. This legislature could care less about their own California Born citizens and would prefer that you sneak into this state to get that free education. The only good thing about this is that maybe people will wake up and realize that these guys have to be voted out of Sacramento. We have a big enough problem with our enemies on the outside in other nations. We don't need to have enemies in control of our state.
Many within the state have a problem giving their money to those that are citizens of the state and nation. You can't tell me that this doesn't ruffle a lot of feathers when our elected officials do something with our money that won't even benefit the state. Come on. It is time to make a change and get rid of these guys.
Either you deport all illegals or you give high achievers a chance to get a degree and contribute to society. The worst thing you can do is turn the head and pretend like they aren't even here, meanwhile banning them from an education. In that case, their children will just become idiots, with no jobs, increasing our welfare system and expanding gang recruitment etc. Either give them a chance to be self-reliant or deport them! What we are doing now is pretending like they don't exist. This legislation is better than nothing, so I support it.

Deporting them sounds like such a good idea, logistically we could handle it. We could use cattle cars like the Germans did. 12 million people, that is only twice the number of jews the Germans moved. I am sure their logistical data is filed away some where, dig it out, see how the pros dealt with millions of undesirables.
I had a thought, what if the United States of Mexico, realizing that they would be overwhelmed by millions of refugees dumped on their border towns, used their army to block them.

Amache (Granada), Colorado Opened August 24, 1942. Closed October 15, 1945. Peak population 7318. Origin of prisoners: Nothern California coast, West Sacramento Valley, Northern San Joaquin Valley, Los Angeles. 31 Japanese Americans from Amache volunteered and lost their lives in World War II. 120 died here between August 27, 1942 and October 14, 1945. In April, 1944, 36 draft resisters were sent to Tucson, AZ Federal Prison.
Gila River, Arizona Opened July 20, 1942. Closed November 10, 1945. Peak Population 13,348. Origin of prisoners: Sacramento Delta, Fresno County, Los Angeles area. Divided into Canal Camp and Butte Camp. Over 1100 citizens from both camps served in the U.S. Armed Services. The names of 23 war dead are engraved on a plaque here. The State of Arizona accredited the schools in both camps. 97 students graduated from Canal High School in 1944. Nearly 1000 prisoners worked in the 8000 acres of farmland around Canal Camp, growing vegetables and raising livestock.2
Heart Mountain, Wyoming Opened August 12, 1942. Closed November 10, 1945. Peak population 10,767. Origin of prisoners: Santa Clara County, Los Angeles, Central Washington. In November, 1942, Japanese American hospital workers walked out because of pay discrimination between Japanese American and Caucasian American workers. In July, 1944, 63 prisoners who had resisted the draft were convicted and sentenced to 3 years in prison. The camp was made up of 468 buildings, divided into 20 blocks. Each block had 2 laundry-toilet buildings. Each building had 6 rooms each. Rooms ranged in size from 16' x 20' to 20' x 24'. There were 200 administrative employees, 124 soldiers, and 3 officers. Military police were stationed in 9 guard towers, equipped with high beam search lights, and surrounded by barbed wire fencing around the camp.
Jerome, Arkansas Opened October 6, 1942. Closed June 30, 1944. Peak population 8497. Origin of prisoners: Central San Joaquin Valley, San Pedro Bay area. After the Japanese Americans in Jerome were moved to Rohwer and other camps or relocated to the east in June, 1944, Jerome was used to hold German POWs.
Manzanar, California Opened March 21, 1942. Closed November 21, 1945. Peak population 10,046. Origin of prisoners: Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley, San Joaquin County, Bainbridge Island, Washington. It was the first of the ten camps to open -- initially as a processing center.
Minidoka, Idaho Opened August 10, 1942. Closed October 28, 1945. Peak population 9397. Origin of prisoners: Seattle and Pierce County, Washington, Portland and Northwestern Oregon. 73 Minidoka prisoners died in military service.

So you and High-head would have no issues, no problems, with California opening the flood gates for millions of new illegals to enter California and flood the public schools and colleges systems with the kids of illegals using taxpayer funded grants and scholarships. And for the other illegal family members who don't want schooling but will accept ... they will demand ... the various public assistance programs available to them ... since California is now saying they have the right. And these millions of new illegals would continue to arrive on a daily basis until the money runs dry but that won't stop them ... they will still continue to arrive ... day after day, month after month ... year after year ...
How can you open the flood gates and then say stop ... enough have arrived ... you can't ... and California is putting up a big neon sign to the world saying ... come ... come to California ... we will pay for your welfare and your schooling ... you now can claim the right to this entitlement. What do you think will happen here? Don't you think poor people from all over the world will come to the promised land?
For you two its "let the good times roll" and you would even allow these illegals to live on or near your properties or your neighbors properties because I'm sure many of these illegals would rather live in the country like you guys do ... especially if they are receiving income from the state.

Extremely hard since the illegal immigrants we have here is integral to California's state economy. On a national scale, the estimated number of illegal immigrants is at a staggering 12 million, more or less.
Deporting them by small groups is something like using a spoon to get all the water out of the ocean unless the Federal government do their job by enforcing border security to prevent anyone from illegally crossing over the border. The Federal government isn't going to go on a witch hunt unless they grant full amnesty to all undocumented immigrants living in the country and force them to pay taxes owed.
An all out, mass deportation? Unlikely. That will wreck chaos all over the country. I'm only being realistic.
Yeah, Im not so sure that we will get paid back, Im more interested in the story getting out because its vital for the focus to change from "CA has passed its own dream act" to "Why isnt the Federal Government doing its job with respect to illegal immigration?"
The fed's delay isnt hurting them one penny but its certainly hurting California each and every day as local and state agencies are innundated with caring for the needs of Non-legal residents-which to be honest I dont mind, but we need to get paid back for doing that.
I agree, this isn't a states job and it is glaring proof of the embarrassment we naively call a federal government.

Purt'near every American aside from the Indians and the Africans came here because they were the oppressed bottom layer of what ever society they came from. Folks with nice German farms did not pick up and move here to start at the bottom. The history of every ethnic group or nationality (including, probably, yours) that has immigrated to this land is a history of prejudice and oppression. What goes on with the Mexicans is no different.
I only know two folks that I know for sure were illegal immigrants. One is the CEO of a company that employs 1200 people.
The other is a University Professor at one of California's finest private Universities.
It is good to see that there are those who feel we have so little to fear from the Chinese economy that we can afford to waste millions of brains.

Actually it would not be hard. You start by issuing all US citizens a ID card that can't be duplicated. Then you cut-off all public assistance to people who are not legal citizens. Then you enforce the laws on the books to prevent illegal immigration including jail time to employers who employ people who do not possess the new ID card. After a period of time, the illegals will stop coming and the ones here will return home if they don't get a free ride.
