Interesting how all the three-strikes-and-your-out and other get tough on crime initiatives passed to increase sentencing terms ending up costing the state more tax money - just like everyone said they would.

Funny how libs know no limits on spending. They'll spend the money yet to be earned by kids yet to be born. Unless the money is to be spent for defense or to keep criminals in jail. Then they fuss about spending.

Have another cuppa tea to go with your sweet cake ... it'll help you ignore how privileged you are to live in a country built on socially progressive thought ... yeah, right from the landing at Plymouth Rock and the Revolution ... not a conservative helping hand anywhere

Funny how conservatives want to get tough on crime until its time to pony up to pay for it.

See how those easy generalizations go both ways.

Costing 50k a yr to house & care for a prisoner is absurb. Florida & texas spends less then half of that.

Yes, that's the problem right there. Prisoners could be made to work for their living just like everyone else, they don't have to have country club conditions and the luxury they're given. They don't need televisions, internet, top notch meals. In fact maybe if prison life wasn't so comfortable, fewer would want to end up in prisons.

Yes. Many desire to go to prison for the country club luxuries. It's quite the life of Riley. See you there!

No biggie. We'll just raise state income tax, corporate tax and sales tax to pay for it.
