Your not getting the point, in the not so distance future all people will be deemed "unskilled" in relation to what artificial beings can do..... There will be nothing that people do better.....

Until there are no longer any "other tasks" to move onto...

I don't understand; you say this as if it were a bad thing.

But more precisely, of course, the value of a human is the net present value of his/her future contributions minus the costs of keeping him/her alive.

True. The overall standard of living of the USA can be ahead, equal to, or behind other nations.

Which do you want for the USA?

Perfect, Sport ... nice sentiment. I'll quote you this coming Nov. 11th when, as is my annual habit, I pause to remember those I still dream about, who I left behind 1966 - 1968, and all like them from all our wars. I'm sure their families will be at peace finally to realize that they no longer have to value their lost sons and daughters -- as the fallen have no "future contributions" to make and no "costs to keep".

You're a peach. Your intellectual and spiritual depth is astounding.

Right there with you (1966-1969) and make the same pause for the same reasons. Never realized it was an act of futility. So glad SportyandMisty cleared that up for me.

Well sir, the question you pose has no relation to the statement I made ... the statement I made was in response to the proposition that "everyone" in America should be focused on trying to get "ahead" generically of everyone else in America ... a nonsensical concept. More basically nonsensical even than the notion that humanity should approach life like a high school football game: a jingoistic competition against ourselves to see who wins the most toys while performing the least functions. I realize that is about the limit of your mentality, however.

See you in Nov., Chief ... day of truce, thought, and reflection.
