Good Gun safety practices Curmy.

LA and OC, forget it. San Bernardino County, possible. Kern County, almost guaranteed last I heard.

The mother lode don't contain the majority of California's population ...

May issue is as good as no issue from what I hear..

Notice that big red region? What is a mystery to me is why the hell this varies across the state ..
And don't even think about CCW'ing outside of the county where you got your permit .. LOL

OC is as far from "will issue" as you can get. In the past decade, only political cronies of the Sheriff got their CCW. Sheriff Baca in LACO prides himself on not issuing ANY CCWs.

Where did you get that map from. It has many errors. Example Sacramento County is shall issue not no issue

It really depends on the Sheriff who is in office. Police Chiefs can also issue as well. So those maps can change. Just an FYI.

Even in Shall/will issue counties you have to go though a fairly rigorous process to obtain a CCW.

And well you should have to go through rigorous training, background check, etc. for a CCW.

At issie in a fragmented state like California is whether or not all the other counties will honor your CCW rights or if it's good only in the county of issue.

One thing is for sure, California, Washington and Oregon - in other words, the left coast - do not provide reciprocity to those of us from other states with CCWs who may enter their hallowed borders.

A CCW issued any where is California is good anywhere in California unless it is issued with restrictions. For example can only carry to and from work.
Obviously there are universal restrictions, no federal buildings, schools etc that are spelled out when you go through the training and receive the packet.

As far as others states, yes it is up to them (at this time) whether or not your states CCW is valid.
