The family and I are going to be moving to the Concord Area and need some good advise on what areas to move into or stay out of, I have two little ones and would like a safe place for them. I should say that I will be renting an apartment so if anyone can recommend one the would be great.

thanks for your help

That area is nice and the bay area has very pretty parts to it, just make sure to avoid ANY suburb of OAKLAND...They are hideous and dangerous and have deplorable education. I moved to the east bay briefly, San Ramon, which is nice but terribly expensive. Dublin is a nice town with affordable apartments. I believe that Concord has some affordable apartments as well. Also, Walnut Creek is nice, and close by! Just remember to avoid cities like Hayward Pittsburg, Antioch, etc. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks, that will help me make a good choice,I've heard of Walnut Creek and it sounds pretty good to, not being from California much less any of it's cities is kind of hard to know where exactly to go the more I know the better.

Thanks again

Hey Chuck
Do a search on Martinez CA. it will have more of a small town feel to it. Has a nice waterfront, and some affordable housing. I belive costs will be 2/3 of what Concord is. Martinez still has everything you would need though.
Avoid Pittsburg, Antioch, Bay Point..... Clayton is nice but bring alot of $$$$
Concord is crowded.....

In my opinion, Walnut Creek would be a better choice than Martinez or Concord. Martinez does have some nice areas, but the downtown is somewhat dumpy. Although Walnut Creek has its share of well-to-do residents, many of us are very middle class. I imagine you could find an apartment in your price range. Walnut Creek is a great place for families.

Walnut Creek is a much better choise than concord. It is a little more pricey, but better schools, in my opinion. Walnut Creek is quick acess to SF. If you have loads of money, you can move to the lamorinda area. One of the best school districts in California, if not the best. Pleasant hill might be a nice option too, very close to walnut creek.
