I normally am in favor of healthy dialogue, debate and compromise, but Republican legislators here in Sacramento as well as in Washington DC have become insufferable filibusters and are now obstructionists in my opinion.

They appear to be in scorched earth, slash and burn mode. Oppose everything, offering no alternatives just so things can get bad and then they can say "we told you so".

Its time for them to go and come back when they have decided that they want to actually work together with Democrats.

And its a shame really cause I should be a Republican by many accounts, but not like they are now. Its too bad that they arent as open to negotiation and compromise, or at least discussion, as their rank and file party members are.

While I'm not happy about the situation, this is all I really care about:

Not only do the maps seem to comply with voter-approved criteria, they "are a product of what generally appears to have been an open, transparent and nonpartisan redistricting process," the court said.
I think it's disingenuous to call them obstructionists when a Republican governor asked for and approved hikes to income taxes, sales taxes, and other fees at least a half dozen times with the same legislative situation, which would have required Republican votes.

So the solution is to give absolute power to one party? Hey, it worked in the Soviet Union!

The democrats are destroying our state and our country with their anti-business agenda, driving up unemployment, homelessness, unsustainable debt, excessive spending, dividing the people, supporting Occupy protests and pushing a communist regime change for the globalization agenda and away from capitalism.

The GOP has been trying to stop this anti-American activity and restore our country. You call this obstruction but we call it trying to obstruct the destruction of America.

If you were chained to someone intent on dragging you both off a cliff, someone might call you an obstructionist too.

Democracy cannot work without compromise, those who refuse to compromise are the ones throwing the whatever off the cliff.

In this case, both at the state and congressional level, it is the Republicans, dragging themselves crippled into the dust bin of history.

The GOP has gone further and further to the right, to the point of being unreasonable and uncompromising. Just read and hear the criticism of the GOP candidates that are left in the race. They are even turning against each other, leaving the GOP itself to be divided.
