I'm no "Miss Cleo", but I'm seein' an SEC investigation in the not-too-distant future!

Where in God's name did you get this info from, other than making it up?

There are plenty of long-term employees with fully vested options. Once the stock starts trading publicly they'll be able (after a certain waiting period) to buy at predetermined low prices and resell at market value. There's no hanky panky, it was part of their compensation plan.

It's good if you're inside the tech bubble but tech firms employ a small number of people considering how much money they make. I bet a lot of the new millionaires will cash out and retire at 35 to some small town in the middle of nowhere and take their money with them. It's what I'd do.

And trickle-down economics doesn't work. The smart new millionaires will invest their money, often overseas, and it won't make its way into the local economy here.

Let's say 1000 people are now worth (on paper) $1million.
They're going to buy houses, go on vacations, eat at fancy restaurants, get nice clothes, lots of money will make it's way into the local economy. They're not going to park 100% of it in Swiss bank accounts.

And besides those 1000, pretty much all the employees with a couple years' service are going to have some kind of stock option, even if it's just a few bucks. Maybe get a nicer apartment, maybe buy lunch out instead of eating in the cafeteria, it'll help one way or another.

Since when is $1M big bucks in SV? Can you even buy a house for that?
