Be on the lookout for feet in shoes.

The people who were washed out to sea will disintegrate in the water, and their various body parts consumed by see creatures. But the shoes (sneakers) may provide enough buoyancy to stay afloat and travel along with the general debris. When the tsunami debris hits the coast we may find ourselves inundated with feet floating inside shoes. Hundreds of them.

Great challenge for something a little different from the daily broken record.

How about Indian Summers in the Winter along the coast? Wearing shorts and a T-Shirt in Decmember. This was one of my favorite times growing up especially in SoCal, enjoying the warm weather without the crouds.

The colors of the ocean along the Big Sur coast:

Redwood forests after a fresh blanketing of snow:

Eastern Sierra in the Fall:

NorCal Redwoods in the Spring:

Spring along the Carrizo plain:

Antelope Valley Poppies:

And the list goes on....

Sorry Snort, but you have really been missing out. Until you have seen Arvin in the Spring you haven't seen the real Arvin at all.

I miss being able to call back home to MD from my CA pool in January to wish everyone a happy New Year's Day while they're in 2' of snow.

Sand in my car the next day, despite that I vacuumed for so long that I still had ringing in my ears. (I'm a recovering neat freak, but I love random sand in my car )

The smell of the ocean on my beach blanket days later.

Hearing children play outside 11 months out of the year.

Driving down PCH on a Sunday to see all the vintage cars driving by.

Catching a movie on the waterfront.

The farmers' market with an ocean view.

Random trips to Catalina Island just because we had nothing else to do. (Such a rough life.)

Oh, and smores on the beach fire pits (we don't have those in MD, NJ, or DE!).

Soon enough, I will be back and will have all of the above!

The worlds second best ribs are at Jocko's in Nipomo.
The worlds best are at my barbecue by the creek.

Jocko's are a tad to salty for my taste.

And no, you don't mess up good ribs by putting sauce on them.
And only pork, spare ribs, none of that beef rib stuff.
