I have 2 years left in the military and would like to become a game warden. Any advice on where to begin, or how to prepare for this field of work?

i know they test every now and them, but can't speak to hiring numbers. You're 2 years out, so who knows what'll happen in this crazy state in that time.

I have been looking for information about this but cant really find much on the website. Do you have any other suggestions. I have looked for books that would help prepare or that would give any kind of info but havent really had any luck.

What exactly are you looking for, the posted link gives a lot of info about the Game Warden position in the state of California. Are you looking for training material to study?

If you're not in a law enforcement MOS now, see if you can get into it. It's a law enforcement position, not rescuing Bambi from fires.

^^^Good advice. There are lots of out of work POST certified LEO's applying for all sorts of positions around the state. Hopefully the situation will be improved in two years but just in case you might want to look at some other States.

My goal i guess in this is to figure out what i have to do to improve my chances to get into this field of work. What classes i should take what material i should study such as laws stuff like that. I know from reading the CADFG requirements it talks about being able to express youre self clearly in a few words and being able to read and write also. Im not worried about the physical part i was a Drill Instructor for 3.5 years so that part is nothing.

Here found this in five seconds:

Focus on the qualifications on the second page. 60 units of college needed.

Oo-rah.

"Freeze Motherf***er!" "Drop the weapon!" "You're under arrest!" "You have the right to remain silent!" 'Bout sums it up. Sorry, I couldn't help myself
