Loyal Catholics are united on faith and morals. Politics, economics, sports, and bingo ... not so much.

So, our increased rate of church attendance relative to the rest of the US correlates with election results that have allowed a permanent political minority party to gridlock our state governance. Cool.

Yes, some of the liberal laws in California can be amusing.

But at least they are not horrifying like the politics of the "hinterland" which is mired in ignorance, superstition and stupidity. They belong in the 17th century.

At least evolution is not a bad word in California!

I've lived in this state since I was four and you could either consider yourself to be Californian(whatever that means), or "please don't hurt me!! I just live/lived there!!"

I consider myself the latter for various reasons.
But since family is here and I got a somewhat, free place to stay, I'm pretty much stuck until I get my goods together.

Of course not. When a process stops early-on, people stop talking about it, especially if it has more than two or three syllables.

Being a Californian means driving a shiny Lexus, sipping soy latte and always being in a hurry..

Being a Californian mean always having to apologize for our great weather and scenery.

Or a 4x4 truck out on a forest road, going fishin', drinking light beer, throwing the empties out on to the landscape,
