Nice little town. I love it. Completely out of the suburban sprawl -- yet close enough for a city fix if a person is so inclined. And no, I am not paid by their Chamber of Commerce. And I hope no one takes note and moves there. I shouldn'ta brought it up.

Lotsa tricks to finding a great life affordably in California.

FWIW: San Francisco Is America's Best City in 2012 - Businessweek

You'd think it wouldn't be rated top city by a business magazine if the state were collapsing.

Problem, Nations can print money, CA can't.

People can take on two or more jobs to earn more to pay their debt. CA can't, it only takes from those with jobs, so paying off debt is a whole lot harder. The CA Gov't does not create any wealth for itself, it takes from the ones working and businesses.

People can cut their spending, CA won't.

People can go bankrupt and CA can't.

So how; beyond raising taxes which ultimately reduces the spending of the ones taxed and the taxes associated with that drops, does the State actually get more money?

Comparing CA to other Nations looks nice, but it actually is of no value when it comes to debt. The beauty and resources is of no help in making money, the weather does not help. Money comes from the workers and the business they work for. Less people working means less in taxes to the State.

Crowded or empty, it's still Bakersfield. Of course, if you 're an ex-con roughneck it's perfect. They'll all stay there and in Oildale.

But for now, west Bakers is still pretty upscale.

You have accomplished the near-impossible: rendered me temporarily speechless with your irrelevant associations in this post. Perhaps later, when my head clears, I can get back to it ... unbelievable nonsense.
