I haven't seen much literature on protections that low-income people receive in the state of California, say below living wage based on the cost of living in a given area. This would include any anti-discrimination fair housing laws. After reviewing a few books and articles on landlord-tenant laws such as those in Yolo Press, I was surprised to see so little literature on discrimination against low-income people. Anyone can point me to a few resources?

The laws in California that protect tenants apply to everyone ... low income people included.

If a low-income person doesn't pay rent for one month and you press the tenant for rent and it winds up in court eventually, can that person claim discrimination that the person is targeted for low-income status?

All jokes aside, it sounds like you are implying people can play the low-income card all they want but still need to pay or quit.

The person is being targeted for violating the rental agreement, aka not paying the rent. Sounds like you're reaching.

Yes, looking for legal loopholes tenants can use. The security deposit was never paid, not even in installments.
