Paying It Forward
Entrepreneurship ... start-ups .. vc capital .. in not such an expected area....Opportunities endless given low cost of living/low tax .. This is how America will come out of this downturn IMO.. Competing globally on costs/etc by working from the lower cost/taxed/regulated areas of the country ... skilled/unskilled labor alike...

Congressman West has righteously exposed the Progressive Caucus as being the card-carrying Communists that they are.

These individuals in the Progressive Caucus are dangerous people that want to regulate banks, reduce carbon emissions, and make college & healthcare more affordable for the Middle Class. They clearly hate the Free Market.

We need to reestablish the McCarthy Commission to get these Communists out of our government.

Please contact your Representative and demand an investigation.

EDIT:
I was being facetious!

There are those who believe everything you wrote. Now that is scary!

People with an axe to grind about how disgruntled they are about California love to make this comparison. And frankly, it is a huge insult to those Okies who truly suffered.

There is a big difference between packing up your 1920s model T and leaving your middle of nowhere homestead where all you had were the crops you grew,

and

Leaving a California because you can get a bigger house with a bigger yard in Oklahoma with less money, and pay less in taxes, all while continuing to afford this with a job that doesn't require a college education.

I wouldn't be suprised however if many of the same people who are leaving California were the ones whose grandparents and great grandparents who left the Great Plains to come to California in the 1930s. Perhaps they preferred the southern Plain lifestyle the whole time, and had a hard time getting used to dynamic and ever-changing California.

We have embraced the Nordic Socialist model, with a touch of Green.

Oh, what an experiment!

It will be one for the history books.

And you'd be incorrect.

Even the illegals are leaving.

Only because the economy is still crappy and construction is almost dead. Watch them flood back the moment the economy looks better.

In addition to that there was a strong art and music scene who's creative types live in SOMA and the Mission (which were still affordable). They were the last few decades in which the city was filled with diversity (Old Money types, Corp movers and shakers, artists/musicians, gays, old hippies, middle and working class families) and everyone had their neighborhoods. It made for a fascinating and exciting mix. Now its a more transient upper-income place with equal shares of educated whites and Asians (and not a lot of anything else). While Los Angeles is turning into "Guadalajara North" San Francisco has become "Vancouver South". It may be misty nostalgia talking but I do miss the California of the 60s-80s.
We have much in common.

COL will prevent that.

The illegals (if they ever flood back to the US - debatable given Mexico's own baby bust ...) will choose other states the next time around, if there is ever a next time.
