Nope, Temecula is hot, way hotter than the places they mention and while a nice city (I lived in Murrieta) I would not recommend living there if one can afford anything on the others die of the coastal range, near the beach.

Thanks again for all your help. Me and the hubby are still looking for the right town to move to.
We have now looked quite a bit at Ladera Ranch and Talega (San Clemente). Would you have any thoughts on them? Both of them seem walkable. I want a community where it's easy to get to know new people and where there are nice playgrounds and the kids can play on the street (in front of the house).

I don't think it's possible to pay that much rent in Temecula.

You can pretty much live anywhere on your budget. I'd suggest Dana Point as in my unbiased opinion it has the best high school in the area. Craigslist has plenty of homes there in your price range:

Sorry, I should prob have mentioned that our budget is now max €5000 a month. And we want to rent a 4 bedroom house, so that limits it a bit.

Someone wrote here on city data that there is a lot of "white trash" in Ladera Ranch. Would that be what people in general think? By looking on it on the web and reading about it, Í thought it seems really nice. But I haven't been there yet, so I wouldn't know. What I like about it is that it seems a bit more European, meaning walkable. I would be very grateful for any info you OC's can give me.

Thanks a million,
Anna

If by "white trash" you mean American versus European then yes, Ladera Ranch is full of those. I think I read somewhere on here that in Ireland there are a lot of obnoxious drunks. Is that true? Why do I now feel like being of no help to you?

By white trash, I did not mean American. Since white trash is an American expression, you probably know better than me what it means. I just read on a forum where some said there was a lot of trouble
in Ladera and "white trash". But I've also read on other forums where people say its a great place to live. That's why I asked here, to hear other opinions.

And oh yes! we DO have loads of drunks in Ireland.

Yes! Sorry!! I do mean dollars. So, we'd like a 4 bedroom house in a family friendly area in southern California. I'd love it if you can take the kids out on their bikes and go for walks where you live, and not needing to drive to a park to do that. Our max would be $5000 a month.

Thanks again!

Thank you Ed. Would it be very hot in Irvine? Do people who live there go to the beach during the summer months or would that be quite of a drive? Are there any particular areas in Irvine that would be considered more family friendly and safe than others?
