Grew up in Chico and Durham, from 1970 or thereabouts. Pot was out there but it was still pretty edgy back then.

The house is in Glenn County, which is very conservative. The city of Orland has voted not to allow dispensaries.

Call me skeptical, but I'm guessing there must be a lot of money in this. Anyone have insight into this phenomenon?
There are start ups now, using tilt up buildings formerly used by light manufacturing / high tech companies. Inside there are hydroponics and grow lights. You get the picture.

I was there, and your statement is wrong, as usual.

I would be concerned with renting to growers, not because of what they legally do... (None of my dang business!) hint hint---you "Religious Right" wingers that took over the Republican party, are some of the most invasive and oppressive people around...You guys are nothing like Lincoln and what he represented...

Anyway, back to the subject.....
I would be concerned because of damage to the structure, moisture, mold, water damage, strain on electrical system, fire chance increases and so forth...

Really?
Any cases of that where the Feds came after landlords?

I can not see it... A renter could commit any number of federal crimes or state crimes for that matter, which the landlord is not held liable for....

I suppose if their was documentation that you knew what they were doing, one could be implicated, otherwise no way....

DEA targets landlords of pot outlets - Los Angeles Times

Its an old story but I read another similar one within the last year. If the Feds want to play hardball, they certainly can make someone's life miserable for a long time, even if the law ultimately isn't on their side.

Back in the day when i worked narcotics we went after landlords for "maintaining a place for the manufacture, use, sale or distribution of illegal substances," or charges to those effects. I'm sure the feds have something similar.
