I'm looking for a change, but don't know where to go. First I wanted to move up north near SF. Now I'm thinking San Diego, but it's too expensive. Where is a safe inexpensive small city with good school, but enough to do so I'm not bored out of my mind? Maybe out of state? I'd miss the ocean though...

Yeah ...........

Do you have a job? Will you relocate? Will you commute? To where? Do you have a housing budget? Do you have a housing size requirement? What do you consider "good school", and what level (age) school?

Hi, I am also a single mom, currently living in the bay area. I'd like to move to a city that has more single moms who can relate more. most of my friends are married and I often feel like an outsider. wondered where you ended up moving to? i notice it's an old post..

A town that has more single moms other than in the bay area? I'm sure there are a LOT of single moms in the Bay Area, you just need to make some more friends.

Try SoCal beach cities. There are a lot of single parents down there. I grew up in the South Bay (Hermosa & Manhattan Beach) in a single parent home. Many friends also came from similar family situations - broken homes. I'm not judging, just saying it seems pretty common there.
