Well I was tired and worn out from building a deck for my wife. Missed it at first. Mind you I am not all that quick when I am not tired either.

UH, 4 1/2's make 2. 4 1/4's would make 1. Bisect once get halves, bisect twice and you get quarters, bisect anymore and you need to live in SF.

So I moved to Dallas from the Bay area when I got married in 93. Moved back in 94. Had 2 kids in Ca moved to the WORST place to live ever Mississippi. For my husbands job. The middle of nowhere. Had a gorgeous house though. No Starbucks. No Target within 1 1/2 hr. Hated it. Moved to Ky about 15 minutes of Cincinnati. Better, but the winters suck. People are very conservative and there is not a big diversaty of culture. I never wanted to move back to Ca. I now have 3 kids. 15,13 and 10. We have the opportunity to move to LA. Waiting for the offer. If the money is right we are going. Would either go to Valencia, Stevenson Ranch or Woodland Hills or Calabasas. Was just back there 2 weeks ago and really missed it. Not that we don't go home every few years. The landscape ect are just home. Not looking forward to double the price of a home ect. but that being said, I guess after 12 1/2 years of being gone it took me thisw long to realize there is no place like home and never say never because I said I would never go back, but being out for so long, you cannot replace, the weather, the restaurants ect.

So, I been reading all these posts ... and I wonders, I says to myself: "Do I miss Detroit?" Well, nope. "Do I miss Philadelphia?" Well, nope, not there either. "How about Washington, D.C.? How about St. Paul, Minnesota?" .... uh, nope and NOPE!

I certainly agree: there is no place like home -- thank god (or whomever got me outta those places).

I came to California already knowing there was no place like home, but I have never been able to move back home. I feel like I'm living the song Hotel California, "you can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave..."

But you actually can. It may not be easy, however. Oh well. I always did like a challenge!

I don't think so! We moved out in '96 and I didn't think we would move back. But everytime I came back on visits the tug of moving back home grew stronger. Even while living in Hawaii, which I love, I still yearned to move back home. Now that we are back, I feel quite satisfied!
