Fresno is trying, but they're pretty late on planning for parks and tree planting. It should have double the park space given its size and the tree planting didn't begin in earnest until about twenty years ago (Tree Fresno). Modesto and Merced were much more successful on that front since they started tree planting much earlier supported by city tree departments. Both have been awarded "Tree City USA" awards repeatedly over the years (about 30 times for each) while Fresno only recently got that designation.

Default community hospital, emergency room-a war zone

Nothing outside of battle can prepare you for taking your family into the community hospital emergency room. This place is an abomination.

Dads cardiologist is at community, we have been to this emergency room roughly 8 times in 3 years. Patients being examined and treated in the halls, Gurnies with patients stacked up in every inch of space. Prisoners in handcuffs accompanied by hulky officers in bullet proof vests with police emblazoned front and back in huge white letters.

Once admitted to the hospital there are no free rooms, treatment is given in the hall in emergency. Once he was in emergency for 3 days waiting for a room. I look my Mother in her wheel chair to see Dad into that Bedlam. Crazy scarey place---nearly third world.

Mother goes to Kaiser and gets in into exam room, evaluated, tested and admitted within 4 to six hours. Boom.
