hello guys,

my husb and i are planning to buy a house in riverbank, do you think it's a nice place, i would appreciate some input please. right now we live in the south and we cannot afford the prices here.i'd like to know about the crime rate, good schools, hosp since we're also planning on starting a family.

Ironically, this may be the time to buy a house in California. Prices are decreasing. In my neighborhood, 10 of them have been on the market for months. One 1400 sq.ft. began at $345k last month and is now down to 309. Riverbank? Not me! Can you say "Norteno"? At least rats can be exterminated.
These criminal gangs need to be crushed, but it won't happen here. They call it "City of Action". Right!!

I am afraid Onager might be right... I dont know what you mean by South but depending on what you want for your children perhaps Riverbank is not the place for you... Come visit the area...check the schools and then make a decision. Here in the Modesto Stockton area there are couple other places I would stay away from... I personally like Ripon, Escalon, and perhaps Oakdale. Ripon is pricey and to some degree Escalon... Good luck!
