What have we learned out there??? Maybe there IS an end to OTHER people's money afterall. That social programs do have a limit and sooner or later, you have to realize you can't have it all no matter what your commercials say.....

Vote Republican, and hold their feet to the fire for expense reductions. Pensions included. It's hard to pay a retired librarian 30K a year for 30 years....dontcha' think? Same with DMV, Parks and Recreation, Toll Booth operators, etc...etc.....it's insane.....

Agreed! Now to see if there's the courage to pass and then implement it.

Needs to go further. Many of the items don't take effect except for new hires. The anti-spiking provisions should be immediate (retro if possible), and increased age for full benefits should be phased in quickly. In 20 or 30 years, when all of the provisions are in place, it is pretty comprehensive, but it won't save enough in the next several years. Still an unaffordable situation. My sympathies are with those impacted, but this is not about what is promised or fair, it becomes what can the state can actually afford.

YUP, I am willing to bet ANY attempt to cut the gravy train will be tied up in the courts for a long, long time.

May not be a bad idea... push the state into bankruptcy. Just what it needs.
