Right, which is why advertising of any kind is a waste of money as no one is ever moved by what they see or read, that is ... well they do say 'sex sells" and ..........

One family alone in a sea of porn, etc will remain unaffected. Just like they never wear the advertised cloths, shoes, hats, make-up, etc.

No man is an island, is sooo true.

There is good parenting and bad parenting. If one's parenting cannot over come the bad stuff that exists, and has always existed, it is ones parenting that needs to be questioned, not the world.

This comes back to my oft stated question. What have Conservatives ever done for the good of the state or nation?

The answer appears to be; nothing.

It is both as the "world" cannot be isolated and it has an impact.

It would be like dining with good clothes on in a cess pool. Your gonna get dirty.

And...

The California Department of Mental Health operates five state hospitals throughout California including: Atascadero State Hospital (San Luis Obispo County), Coalinga State Hospital (Fresno County), Metropolitan State Hospital (Los Angeles County), Napa State Hospital (Napa County), and Patton State Hospital (San Bernardino County).

Each state hospital provides inpatient treatment services for Californians with serious mental illnesses. Additionally, the department operates two correctional programs, Salinas Valley Psychiatric Program and Vacaville Psychiatric Program.
Unfortunately, 90-100% of the state hospital populations are forensic - sexualy violent predators, mentally disordered offenders, not guilty by reason of nsanity, incompetent to stan d trial - which doesn't leave a whole bunch of room for anyone else in need of acute level services. Add to that the federal Olmstead decision and having someone placed is extremely difficult.

What you're suggesting israther off base and not entirely accurate. Because it's beyond the scope of the current discussion I won't talk about it any further.

The change in the state politics, is largely due to demographics. The Republicans were predominant back in the days when California was 88% white population about 40 years ago. In the last few years, the total number as well as percentage of population of the white population has actually declined, while the immigrant population has soared. The movement in the the state has been a negative figure for residents moving from other states to California, but immigration from other countries has risen greatly. Today the white population is down to about 38% of the population, and the balance is non white with well over 50% from 2 races, Hispanic and Asian both of which tend to be mostly Democratic voters.

California for now permanently entered into the Democratic camp, unless the Hispanic, Asian, and Black other people of color who were 59.9% of the California population in 2010 (and even higher 2 years later) who vote democratic almost exclusively suddenly change parties.
Many Hispanics in the state were Republican prior to props 187 and 209. One having to do with immigration and the other with bilingual education. One has to wonder if those props never existed just how blue we would be with the Hispanic population as large as it is now. Seems to me the GOP shot themselves in the foot on this just as they do with everything else.

Shame to have such a negative viewpoint, I know lots of moral upright ethical young people, it happens with good parenting.

Not sure how many kids you have raised to adulthood, or if you did, how they turned out, but mine are all doing very well, ethically.

Now, daughter #2 tilted toward the dark side for a year, she sold her Jeep and bought a car, but, she learned her lesson and just sold her car and bought a truck. Hers is the one in the middle, between her mothers and mine, good to have her back on the straight and narrow!

The Hispanic population, while vast and growing, is only 16% of the voting population in CA... and about 4% of those 16% vote Republican.

So let's not get overboard about the Hispanics. The GOP has lost every demographics in CA, not just the Hispanics.

The numbers are what they are...

It is important to note even against overwhelming odds... not every elected official is a member of the Democrat Party...
