No MOD CUT cop is going book me on a felony. If I was gay, I'd totally accepted almost everywhere in the state. I'm going out on a limb but I'd guess Muslims probably feel better in most of California than about 40 to 49 other states. I can live life in most major cities in California as a pedestrian, get across town on my bicycle if I wanted to.

For every freedom that you think California takes away that's important to you, I bet I could name 2 that are important to someone else.
much of that is true i've found....my husband and i don't really care what other people do and outside of ca, everyone makes it their business....we're like "why do you care?"!

Not trying to cause problems and dont flame me but Sizemologists, the last 10 years are making serious claims of a possible 7+ magnitude Quake in the Los Angeles area. And if you study Earthquakes, the history of California quakes, it does makes sense. The thought of a massive 7 Quake centered in downtown LA is enough to make me physically ill and want to vomit. Not a short rumble either, they are predicting a 7+ that could last 5 minutes or more. Not my opinion but fact. Good luck you all and I think I'll stay away.

Some people live in perpetual fear of one thing or another ...
while others simply, well, live.

Why do people like California so much?

California has some of the most diverse geography and natural beauty in the world, let alone the U.S. What other state in the U.S. has all of the following:

- sparkling beaches and thriving kelp forests off the coast
- snow-capped volcanoes in it's Cascade and Sierra mountain ranges
- towering sand dunes rivaling the Sahara in the Mojave Desert
- alpine lakes and snow-fed streams and creeks
- awesome desert scenery
- some of the best culinary artists and chefs you'll ever find!
- world class museums, art galleries, aquariums, zoos and cultural exhibits
- amusement parks and venues for entertainment
- rich farmland, vineyards, award-winning wines, amazing brews!
- prestigious research universities (Cal-Tech, UCLA, Cal, UCSD, USC, CalPoly, UCSF, Stanford, etc.)
- amazing diversity (Hispanic, European, Asian, Middle Eastern)
- a relatively mild climate without the intense humidity and cold of other places
- Apple, Google, Intel, HP
- some of the best skiing and snowboarding ever!
- the Mojave Space Port
- very close to Las Vegas, Reno, the Colorado River, Grand Canyon in neighboring states.
