You'll feel right at home in the Russian River valley or Sebastopol.

Sonoma (town) is hotter than Santa Rosa. SR is slightly warmer than Russian River or Sebastopol. Each town has their good points - it just really depends on what you're looking for. Warmer climate? Smaller town? More ammenities? Land to go along with the house? You can find homes under $700 in any of these locations.

And you'll find plenty of other older gay men in Guerneville, Monte Rio, etc.

Myself and my domestic partner currently live in Spokane WA. We are looking to relocate to California. My partner is a truck driver & her route will be in California. I have family in Santa Cruz & would love to go back there, but the cost of living is too high and not a lot of office job opportunities for me. I have done some research on San Luis Obispo, Atascadero, Pacific Grove, Santa Rosa, Sebastapol and Petaluma and I am just over whelmed. I prefer a small, quait "Mayberry RFD" type of town, not too far of a commute to larger city for me to work. Some place with rents under $1,000 a month with low crime. A place that is open minded. We are not in the closet, but we don't flaunt our relationship either. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Les
